Mission

To provide a safe and supportive academic environment for the recovering student who wants to complete their high school education.

Admission Requirements

Admission is reserved for those students who have successfully completed a 12 step treatment program, are committed to recovery and are willing to actively follow a recovery plan.

Safe and Supportive

The needs of a recovering high school student are unique and require a supportive environment void of the factors that lead to past additive behaviors.  A recovery high school classroom helps students integrate the successful principals of the 12 step program into their daily routines and reinforces the use of recovery skills as they transition into a sober lifestyle.  When problems arise, trained counselors are immediately available.

Academic Environment

Oklahoma Outreach Sober School provides a fully-supervised classroom environment where students can work independently to receive credits toward high school graduation.  Each student’s unique requirements are evaluated and a course of action determined that best meets the needs of the student and their family.   Students can complete their courses and graduate with an accredited high school diploma, or they can prepare for transition back into their previous school.

Classes meet daily in a teacher supervised computer lab classroom, where students participate in distance learning courses tailored to meet their individual needs and graduation requirements.  Students also participate in elective curriculum designed to provide the recovering student with self-discovery activities and gain knowledge about college or careers, hobbies, and service projects that promote a commitment to recovery.
